The Humane Society of Pinellas (HSP) is dedicated to reducing the rate of euthanasia in Pinellas County. Neonatal kittens are a particularly vulnerable population with more than 2,000 euthanized in Pinellas last year due to lack of resources. HSP is seeking the public’s partnership to drastically reduce this number through our Kitten Crusaders Program. Together, with the help of veterinary clinics, animal hospitals, shelter/rescue partners, and citizen foster homes, we can provide loving care to kittens in need. There are many ways to be a part of the solution! Please contact Amanda Audia, HSP’s Director of Operations at AmandaA@HumanePinellas.org to join the Crusade to save these precious animals and make a positive impact in our community!

Animal Services - Pinellas County FloridaPinellas County Animal Services News

Pinellas County Animal Services and other local rescues are gearing up for kitten season with numbers already increasing.  We would love your help getting ahead of the storm by encouraging customers and residents to participate in the TNVR program.

Please let your customers know there is help available and trappers can drop off cats at PCAS, Friends of Strays, or other participating clinics for this program.  The cats will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and ear tipped. The only requirement is a clear address of origination so the trappers can return them to the exact location found.  If the cats are friendly, they may be eligible for adoption and if the cats are sick or suffering, they will not be put back in the field.

Friends of Strays accepts cats in traps Sunday- Thursday 10 am – 6 pm.  PCAS can take them during regular business hours and transfer them to Friends of Strays; however, it is best to take the cats directly to Friends of Strays whenever possible to reduce their stress.

Please follow this link for more information on this important program and for a complete list of local TNVR providers: https://www.friendsofstrays.org/community-cats

Please help us avoid a “CATegory 5” situation this Kitten Season!
