SPC SCHOOL OF VETERINARY TECHNOLOGY
PINNING AND AWARDS CEREMONY

St. Petersburg College’s Veterinary Technology Program has successfully concluded the summer semester and is preparing for a productive and rewarding fall term. We are proud to announce the graduation of 17 additional students this summer, bringing our total to 52 graduates entering the veterinary workforce this year.

We remain deeply grateful to the veterinary community for their continued support of our students through clinical site placements. These partnerships are critical to the hands-on learning and professional development that define our program.

This summer, a group of students and faculty member Nikki Riggs spent two weeks in Costa Rica, where they immersed themselves in the country’s culture, history, and natural beauty. The experience included collaborative work with wildlife rescue organizations and valuable insights into the differences between veterinary practices in Costa Rica and the United States. We are now planning our next international learning experience, a Spring Break trip to Derry, Ireland, where students will engage with a veterinary nursing program and gain a deeper understanding of veterinary care in a global context.

As we begin the fall semester, we look forward to continuing our strong partnerships with Pinellas County Animal Services, SPCA Tampa Bay, Humane Society of Pinellas, Animal Luvrs Dream Rescue, Horses for Handicapped in Seminole, Bar 4 Ranch, DK Farms, Side Pass Farms, and Dancing Goat Dairy. These collaborations are essential to the success of our program, and we are truly grateful for their ongoing support.
